The shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson is a terrible tragedy no matter what else you say or think. I think it is noteworthy that a Grand Jury decided not to indict the officer who shot Michael Brown. They considered numerous accounts and testimonies of people involved and bystanders along with physical evidence. Eye witness accounts are notoriously unreliable; people see different things and they see things differently. Physical evidence is much more reliable. My final point is this: the purpose of a a Grand Jury is to indict, only the prosecution can present evidence and there is not cross examination or testimony for the defense. So, if a Grand Jury which is always biased to the prosecution fails to indict; to me that is pretty conclusive. Of course regardless of who is guilty or innocent the looting, violence and destruction are inexcusable.
