Stayed up too late Friday, slept late on Saturday. I’m happy to say I did go to church Saturday evening. Vegetated all day Sunday and went to bed early. Today I finished reading Unleash Your Buddha Nature which is a good intro, sort of a Buddhism 101. Good book, I enjoyed it and found it informative. I started another book Uncontrolling Love: Essays Exploring the Love of God, with introductions by Thomas Jay Oord.

A recent book by Thomas Jay Oord that presents God’s love as non-controlling has me thinking about how we might imagine this idea at its fullest extension. Tom’s rigorous way of following this line of thinking to a surprising conclusion left me wondering if we need to exercise our imaginations considerably more than usual to consider how much divine love can actually accomplish.
